Set up your automated response, add the most common questions to your automated response on Facebook messenger, and let it works its magic. Before we add the Automated Replies we have to make sure that you have a couple of other things

HOW to set up Facebook Messenger?

Make sure that Messenger is enabled (Facebook messenger should be enabled when you create a business page. But it never hurts to make sure)

  1. Start by going to your pages General Settings
  2. Next got to Messages, make sure “People can contact my page privately” is on
  3. Once you do that Messages should be on and working

Greeting

A FB Messenger greeting is a custom message your customer recieves when they open a messaging tread. The greeting appears before they send their first message.

Add a greeting by:

  1. Going to your pages General Settings and select Messaging
  2. Scroll down and turn Show A Messanger Greeting ON
  3. To customize the greeting, click Change
  4. Select Add Personalization. This way your greeting can include your customer’s name, your Facebook page link, your website, or your business phone number
  5. When done, just click Save

Set up Instant Reply

Instant replies create an automatic first response for new messages. This message can show the timeframe that it might take to get a response or can simply thank someone for reaching out.

Set up Instant Reply’s:

  1. Go to your business page General Settings and select Messaging
  2. Scroll down and select Set up automated responses
  3. Click Instant Reply
  4. Press edit to customize your messages
  5. Make sure Messenger is checked off under Platform. You can also select Instagram to use an Instant Reply there, too

How to create responses for frequently asked questions to save you time!

  1. Select Inbox
  2. In the left menu sidebar; select Automated responses
  3. Click Frequently asked questions
  4. Select Edit
  5. Add a question and then fill out the response
  6. You can also select Add Image to include your logo or image of your choice. You can also add a call-to-action button such as “Learn More” or “Shop Now”
  7. Select Add Personalization to add details such as your customer’s name, the admin’s name, a link to FB page or website, or your phone number
  8. Save your reply

Hack #2 Add the correct NAP on your FB

You have to make sure that you have the same thing for your Facebook page, and it has to be consistent with all other listings or your overall search ranking will suffer.

Make sure all numbers, spelling, and abbreviations match. Having the right information will help your SEO and make sure that your customers have a way to reach out when they need you.

To make sure your Name, Address, and Phone number are correct:

  1. Go to business page settings
  2. After the page loads on the left side, you will see the Navigation Bar starting with General settings
  3. Click on the Page info option
  4. On the Page Info page, you will be able to edit your Business Description, Categories, Phone Number, Website, Email, Address, and More!!
  5. Remember to hit the Save Changes button after you edit

Hack #3 Get customers to review you

Getting customers reviews is something that all small businesses should do. Bright Local revealed that 68% of consumers will give local businesses a review when asked. Find a way to ask your customer for a review. It can be as easy as having a sign that asks them to leave a review or as complicated as collecting your customers emails/texts and then sending them a request to get a review for your website.

It all depends on how much time you have and how creative you want to be. At the end of the day you know your customer best and what they might respond to.

Once you find a way to obtain reviews make sure that you monitor the reviews pretty regularly. There will be good reviews but you will also get bad reviews and you must make sure that you answer back to that review. A negative review can have a large impact on your business and you must make sure to fix it ASAP!

An idea to get your customers to review your business is a customer loyalty system where customers will get rewarded in discounts or a free product after leaving a review. A great way to come up with the perfect plan would be to sit and brainstorm with your staff. They know your customer and can give you feed back on what will work.
